With summer on its way, the cottagecore aesthetic continues to evolve. Elevated pastoral styles build upon the aesthetic’s small-town signatures. Smocking tops (+73% to LY) and drop waist maxi dresses (+25% to LY) are emerging trends to watch, while toile dresses(+89% to LY) and floral corsets (+57% to LY) are safe bets. Gigi Hadid’s collaboration with Frankie’s Bikinis–arriving on May 11th, followed by a second drop on June 2nd–hints at the summer romance ahead.
Men
Men are searching for ways to get their denim fix–from men’s acid wash jeans (+26% to LY) to men’s cuffed jeans (+17% to LY). Jeans in a range of shapes and styles are on the rise–men’s high rise jeans (+26% to LY) and men’s pink jeans (+25% to LY) are emerging trends to watch, while men’s purple jeans (+70% to LY) and men’s denim cargo pants (+65% to LY) are safe bets.
Beauty
Hair is the primary focus for consumers looking to tame their curls and promote hair growth. Curl refresher (+31% to LY), tousled waves (+31% to LY), and curl cream (+9% to LY) are emerging trends to watch. Female hair loss (+13% to LY) is an area of concern as ingredients that support hair health and growth–like rosemary oil (+116% to LY), murumuru (+23% to LY), and manketti oil (6% to LY)–gain popularity.
Kids
April showers brought May flowers in the kids’ clothing category. Emerging floral trends include floral wrap skirts (+15% to LY), floral headbands (+11% to LY) and floral rompers(+2% to LY). Flower claw clips and floral pajama sets are safe bets–searches for the floral favorites are +927% and +69% to last year, respectively.
