If you couldn’t make it yourself but still want to delve into the insights, we’ve aggregated her findings for you below. AESTHETIC

The focus on girlhood has grown-up––previously, bows and rosettes were key market drivers that offered a sense of femininity and whimsy. Now, we’re seeing this aesthetic evolve in a regal manner with an introduction of a vintage undertone. For example, he cutesy bows are now romantic ties. While a staple in the intimates market, lace has entered a new era with creative use-cases, unique motifs in appliqués, and contrast colorations.
COLOR

When it comes to color, this is the key driver in storytelling for the category. We’re moving on from baby pinks and icy blues to an increase in saturation––think of robin’s egg blue as a key color. Plus, jewel tones are garnering focus: sapphire, ruby red, jade, and magenta. After the past two years of warm-tones being the market leaders, it’s now time for cool tones to have their moment in the spotlight.
KEY ITEMS

Consumers are looking to invest in items that aren’t just for the bedroom but can be worn in other parts of their day-to-day life, too. Longline bras, corsets, and bodysuits should be key drivers in your assortment—and don’t forget to use your marketing vehicles to showcase how they can be styled. Plus, with the romanization of small moments at home, consumers are looking to upgrade their loungewear (ex: what she’s wearing in-between the time coming home from work and before changing into her pajamas) as well as sleepwear. Gone are the days of just sleeping in a baggy tee—thanks to capturing daily lives online and encouragement to take your self-care (which includes what you wear) into consideration.
DRIVING DETAILS

Most importantly, lace appliqués are the perfect medium to showcase a personal touch––we’ve seen this grow through varieties of flowers, whimsical motifs, and types of lace that lets a consumer choose a piece that feels aligned with her personality. Even if the silhouette itself is nothing groundbreaking, the emotion showing through the detail certainly is. Complementing texture with micro-pleats on slips and embroidery is a perfect way to spice up best-selling silhouettes with texture, too. Utilizing contrast mesh and trim is a great way to introduce color to the consumer who’s weary of color and typically sticks with neutrals-–yet, this is the perfect way to have fun and mix best-selling + trending shades. Lastly, as ready-to-wear silhouettes continue to showcase asymmetricality, be sure to consider the multi-use aspects of your pieces––can the straps re-hook for a one-shoulder top? Is it an item that’s functional but still looks beautiful under a mesh garment?
