MACRO-MOVEMENTS
Make Moves
This season, we’re seeing athletic inspiration transcend a jogger or drawstring closure to reach a new level with actual sports-inspiration (think jerseys and rugby sweaters) that mimic society’s growing love for global sports, a prep approach a la Celine, as well as a cool approach to the utility aesthetic that feels equally futuristic as it does nostalgic––consider bubble hem bomber jackets, vests, and cargo pocket mini-skirts.
Age of Elegance
While there’s an undertone of preppy sports-inspiration that reigns through both the athletic and elegant themes, we’re seeing minimalism a la The Row or Bottega Veneta mix with a classic “old money” aesthetic––think tweeds, cardigans, and pinstripes for a dose of prep. Plus, the boho chic aesthetic (courtesy of Chloé) was one of the most prominent on the shelves––with that being said, it’s a very elegant take on boho through waterfall ruffles, loose fitting dresses, and the return of the blouse.
