New York Fashion Week

Fall/Winter 2023

This season, New York City invited us back into a state of wearability. Designers expertly reintroduced key pieces to curate a wardrobe that you’ll want to wear time and time again––from coffee shop to cocktail party. But it wasn’t all so serious, creativity rang throughout the collections from the use of food motifs, look-at-me red and yellow hues, and statement baubles. Beauty bordered a state of sophistication with slicked hair and a classic red lip while simultaneously showing metallic moments and avant garde hairstyles, too. Case in point, no matter what you’re looking for to fill your assortment this season, New York houses had an answer.

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT

LUAR

Designer Rual Lopez is a New York-native who's worked on labels like Hood by Air before founding his own brand Luar. While he's certainly been on the rise the past few seasons (even scoring a CFDA nomination), he was given the coveted time slot of closing out this season's New York Fashion Week.

HERVÉ LÉGER

Hervé Léger has received an elevated redux since the early aughts and is arguably a label-to-watch in the seasons to come. The brand is currently under the creative direction of Christian Juul Nielsen who also works on his own label AKNVAS that's been a buzzy label in the advanced contemporary market.
