The Fall/Winter 2026 season was not one that was over-the-top. Many times, we walk away from the Week with loud, exciting trends that are ready to splash over our newsfeeds and assortments, and yet, FW26 was anything but that. It was subtle yet undeniably clear to see the micro-movements that evolved in our hometown fashion industry over the past six months.
The jewel tones transformed, going from burgundy to mulberry, the plum felt vintage-inspired, and punchier hues like Mandarin orange and chartruese revealed themselves as key players in unlikely color combinations. Lastly in color, grey made an argument to take ownership as the second-in-command neutral over brown.
Overall, attention was kept on the clothes and designer debuts this season. Rachel Scott made her debut at Proenza Schouler––while also hosting a second show for her own brand Diotima––and Public School returned after a six-year hiatus. We even saw unlikely names on the schedule like 7 For All Mankind and contemporary label Cult Gaia on the schedule.
